6. Virginia High School Hall of Fame Inductee
The School Board is pleased to recognize John Williams, Student Activities Coordinator at Ocean Lakes High School, for being inducted into the 2013 Virginia High School Hall of Fame.

Sponsored jointly by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) and the Virginia High School Coaches Association, the Hall of Fame was established to acknowledge the achievements of students and adults in sports and activities within Virginia's public high schools. Williams is one of only seven people to be inducted this year.

A 28-year veteran of Virginia Beach City Public Schools, Williams began his career at First Colonial High School before moving to Ocean Lakes High School when it opened its doors in 1994. He has directed and hosted numerous district, regional and state sporting events and is an avid supporter of student leadership and student activities programs. In addition, Williams is a champion of and role model for good sportsmanship.

Throughout his career, he has received several honors including being named the Group Triple-A athletic director of the year by the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association in 1999 and receiving the State Award of Merit in 2001 from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Please join me in congratulating this outstanding advocate for student athletics and activities - Mr. John Williams from Ocean Lakes High School.
