6. Student, Employee, and Public Awards and Recognitions
2013 Virginia Virtual Enterprise Trade and Business Winners

The School Board is pleased to recognize the following Advanced Technology Center students for earning first place in the 2013 Virginia Virtual Enterprise Trade and Business Competition:

  • Laura F.;
  • Jonathan S.; and
  • Katelynn S.

Here to accept a plaque on behalf of the ATC is teacher and Virtual Enterprise sponsor Kathy Sargent.

These innovative students created and managed a virtual company, conducting business with other “firms” nationally and internationally. With the help of a teacher and community business partner, the students were responsible for every aspect of business development, operation and marketing.

The Advanced Internet Web Professional team from the ATC, known as NovaCode in the Virtual Enterprise community, placed first in Web Design and Impact Marketing at the Virginia Virtual Enterprise Trade Fair and Business Competition. In addition, they placed third for Best Booth; fourth in Salesmanship; and fifth in Business Card Design.

The Virtual Enterprise program gives students the chance to explore career paths, develop organizational and communication skills, learn to collaborate with others and use technology skills in a business setting.

Please join me in congratulating these outstanding students and their sponsor.

That concludes our scheduled recognitions, Mr. Chairman.
