Williams named new head football coach at Green Run High School

Green Run High School (GRHS) has named Brandon Williams as the new head coach for the school's varsity football team. Williams has established strong ties to the school community as both a special education assistant at the school and through his roles as an assistant football coach and head coach of the boys' varsity track and field teams.

"We are excited for Coach Williams to assume leadership of the football team," said GRHS Principal Todd Tarkenton. "Through his experiences in the classroom and on the field, he has demonstrated his ability to build positive relationships with students and his commitment to helping each young person reach his full potential."

Williams met with the team for the first time today as head coach and will continue working with players during offseason conditioning sessions.

Before joining GRHS as a teacher assistant in 2013, Williams served part time as the defensive backs and running backs coach for the Stallions football team. He also worked in Norfolk Public Schools as a special education teacher assistant and as a mental health technician in the private sector.

The Green Run Stallions kick off the 2017-2018 season Friday, Aug. 25, against Landstown High School.
