We Are VBSchools: Great Dreams Need Great Teachers is back again

Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) is again asking students, parents and community members to share examples and stories about the division’s great teachers and staff members as part of the We Are VBSchools: Great Dreams Need Great Teachers campaign.

Launched in 2015, this appreciation campaign has celebrated the work of teachers and staff members across the division with surprise classroom visits, stories and videos highlighting the work and lives of VBCPS employees as well as testimonials from students and families. Additionally, the campaign, which is completely funded through community partnerships and donations, provided special tokens of appreciation for staff.

“Seeing the outpouring of support from our students and families and hearing the heartfelt messages about the difference our teachers are making in their lives, we knew that we could not end this campaign after just one year,” said VBCPS Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence. “It is an honor to help celebrate our committed and caring educators and I look forward to sharing more of their stories with our community.”

This year’s campaign is again made possible through the support of business and community sponsors. These sponsors include Head of the Class sponsor Jersey Mike’s as well as Jostens, Blackboard Connect, Rudee Tours, Autobell Car Wash, AMC Theatres and the Virginia Beach Education Foundation.

Students and community members are encouraged to take part in the campaign by sending an email to GreatTeachers@vbschools.com to let the school division know about a teacher or staff member who is making a difference at their school.
