Princess Anne High School earns
2015-2016 Wells Fargo Academic Cup

For the second consecutive year, Princess Anne High School is one of six high schools in the Commonwealth to earn the Wells Fargo Academic Cup. Presented by the Virginia High School League (VHSL), the award is based on schools’ performance and participation in the league’s academic activities and state competitions.

“Accomplishing this feat for two consecutive years is truly extraordinary,” said Virginia Beach City Public Schools Superintendent Aaron Spence. “It speaks volumes of the quantity and quality of activities offered at Princess Anne as well as the dedication of our parents and staff members as they support the incredible work of our students.”

According to the VHSL, winners are determined by a point system based on performance in the league’s state competitions for scholastic bowl, creative writing, debate, theatre and forensics. Schools also earn points for academic activities including creative writing, newspaper, yearbook and magazine.

For more information about this academic award or its counterpart award for sports, visit the Wells Fargo Cup page on the VHSL website.
